I love that with the I can have the perfect look for any occasion without having to purchase multiple products. The makeup can be worn different ways and my look can be subtle or dramatic depending on what I want. I bought 2 colors and now I rarely wear anything else.

What Are Makeup Primers? A makeup primer is a unique product that straddles the line between makeup and skin care and yet does not quite fit into one or the other. Makeup primers are lotion or cream-based formulas that are applied to the skin before foundation (or occasionally in its stead). Their purpose is to sit on top of the skin, where they will fill in any gaps between pores and wrinkles, thereby turning the skin into a smoother canvas to which it is easier to apply foundation. Makeup primers also act as a shield, separating the foundation from the skin and preventing any of its ingredients becoming absorbed by the skin. This also means that foundations that are applied over makeup primers tend to last much longer, and the skin ends up looking smooth and flawless for many hours. How to Choose the Right Makeup Primer for Your Skin Type {PICTURE: SKIN TYPES} A lot of people think primers are just for people with oily skin, which is not true at all. just like we have moisturisers for different skin types, primers too target various skin concerns while doing the job of layering. The right primer will fix as well as hydrate your skin at the same time If you have dry skin... {PICTURE:DRY} You should rely on one that hydrates, one that has a creamy texture so your skin looks dewy even before you apply your makeup. Remember that you’re not fighting enlarged pores, you’re fighting flaky skin and only a hydrating primer can save your skin type. A good, nourishing primer can take the place of your lotion, so you can hydrate your skin and prep it for makeup in one step. Look for primers with words like “hydrating,” “soothing,” or “replenishing.” If you have oily skin... {PICTURE:OILY} If you struggle with excess oil and shine, youll want to combat this with a great mattifying primer that will reduce your skin’s oil production. Products that minimize pores typically help to minimize shine as well. Look for oil-free formulas – your skin doesn’t need any help with that! If you have combination skin... {PICTURE:COMBO} . You’re battling both oily and a dry skin type at once. Naturally then, finding the right primer for your skin type might be a bit of a task. What you need is a primer that doesn’t mattify, doesn’t overtly hydrate—look for something in between that will just simply help your makeup glide on perfectly. If you have sensitive or allergy-prone skin and acne issues, {PICTURE:ACNE} If you've found that your skin is sensitive to the products you use, it's a good idea to choose primers with a short ingredient list. Many beauty supply stores will have primers for sensitive skin that are oil-free, fragrance-free, paraben-free, and so on. The less additives in your facial products, the lower chance you have to experience a negative reaction.Smoothening Primers can be used as they contain silicones and have a smooth texture. These products create a very smooth and velvety base on the skin on which foundation glides much more easily. They not only give an amazing smooth finish to the makeup but also make the foundation last longer and sometimes have added oil-control properties as well. Hope this was informative and useful!

How To Makeup Primer Application Methods So you’ve got your ideal primer figured out, it’s almost time to begin the application process. But before you open up the formula and go to town, be sure to prep your canvas. .I've tried applying primer with brushes and sponges, but I always get the best results when using my fingers. Primer is something you want to get into every nook and cranny of your face so using your fingertips is the best way to achieve that flawless finish. 1) Clean Slate {PICTURE:PREP FACE} To ensure all traces of dirt and impurities are off your skin, cleanse your skin at this point. Since you’ll likely be applying your primer and subsequent makeup with your fingers, give your hands a good rinse as well to reduce the risk of spreading germs onto your face. Follow up with a hydrating toner if you wish STEP 2: MOISTURIZE . {PICTURE:MOISTURIZE} Primers arenot meant to replace daily moisturizers. All skin types require daily hydration, so be sure to never skip this step. Once your skin is clean and refreshed, apply a lightweight moisturizer for all skin types. Allow skin to fully absorb the moisturizer before apply primer on top approx 5-10 mins. STEP 3: APPLY {PICTURE: APPLY} When using a foundation primer, apply a pea sized amount to the back of your hand, making sure to have washed your hands prior Try to avoid the temptation to use more than directed. A little goes a long way, You wont need more than is necessary to cover your face and neck. Using too much primer can cause your foundation to clump up. STEP 4: Blend {PICTURE: BLEND} Start at the center of the face and then gently smooth upwards and outwards using gentle circular motions, Be sure to reach every last nook and cranny of your face and neck to ensure smooth, even coverage. Pro tip: Always make sure your primer is compatible with your foundation. Some foundations and primers some can rub together and separate your make-up base
